Amid Steelers drama, Antonio Brown shares private message with Tom Brady

There have been a lot of talks about Antonio Brown leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers. He appears not to be interested in saving the relationship but is instead burning a few bridges on his way out. The only thing that can save his career in the NFL is his amazing talent that will bring him a new contract as soon as he leaves the Steelers. Apparently, he could end up in the New England Patriots.

We did not see Brown on the field for Pittsburgh’s regular-season finale against the Bengals. He also skipped practice for a few days leading up to the critical must-win game. Reports further explained that Brown and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a big falling out. Coach Mike Tomlin said that Brown wouldn’t take his calls but when he did, he told Brown he’d be out and the receiver left that Week 17 contest by halftime.

That’s when the first reports surfaced saying that Brown requested a trade. When asked about it, all Tomlin said was that they were not going to be resistant to change. After the game the Steelers did a press conference, which was when Brown and Patriots linebacker James Harrison posted a video together. This made fans think that Brown was talking to the Patriots about playing for them.

Brown went on to share that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sent him a private message that read “Keep ballin AB!! Fun to watch you!!!” Brown replied by saying “What an honor from the goat himself. Amazing to witness n watch you, 6 round guys.”

During the team’s press conference, coach Tomlin talked about how Brown essentially abandoned them as they were fighting to keep their season alive. He said:

“Absolutely. When we’re talking about our darkest hour…and a guy not communicating, that is a real element of discussion, certainly. There was a lack of communication there that can lead to thoughts and things of that nature…the bottom line was that we were playing in a significant game and he wasn’t communicating in an appropriate enough way…”

It won’t be long before we see Brown debut for another team!
